Mr. Inez Band
Mr. Inez is a seven-piece band specializing in unique arrangements of classic hits from the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Members include professional players and singers who are veterans of both studio and live performance and therefore do not use pre-recorded tracks. Mr. Inez shows are always family friendly and appropriate for all age groups.
The Band: John Hooper (guitar, keyboards, vocals) Johnny is known internationally as a jingle and radio/TV ID package writer, singer, producer and session guitarist. He toured Europe and the U.S. with the popular band “Young Country” and has performed with many local bands. John was inducted into the Texas Radio Music Hall of Fame in 2016. Barry Hicks (keyboards, vocals) Barry has been entertaining Dallas audiences since the early 70’s and has played with many popular local bands including Moving Colors, Ten 88, The Brooks, and The Roof Raisers. Dan Grogan (bass, vocals) In addition to Mr. Inez, Dan has fronted his own band “Dallas Unlimited” for many years, performing for numerous private corporate events and weddings. Mike Medina (percussion, bass, keys, vocals) Mike is truly multi-talented, well known, and in demand by touring and local musicians. He has performed with Emerald City, 2tone, Edgar Winter, Simon Phillips, Andy Timmons, Quentin Hope, Cuvee, and many others. He also teaches commercial music production and recording arts at Collin County Community College. Drew Hunter (drums) Drew plays drums with several local bands including the ever popular Tom Petty tribute band “Petty Theft”, Big Mike Richardson, Fossil Rock, and the Masons. Deb Hooper (vocals, percussion) Deb voice can be heard on countless commercials, radio and television ID packages as well as performing live, mostly in bands with Johnny and Barry for years. Kay Sharpe (vocals) Kay continues to make a living with her beautiful voice in Dallas area recording studios as she has for decades. One of the most respected session singers in the country, Kay still finds time to perform live with Mr. Inez.
