FORTY aka Gayle Ewing-Keys is the owner of Forty Music Productions where she writes, mixes, arranges, and produces her songs and those of others. Ewing-Keys was trained on the piano classically as a child stopped playing and resumed instruction after 40 years, thus the name Forty. Ewing-Keys has been playing the piano for the past 8 years and drastically changed the direction of her music instruction to allow a creative aspect. By doing so, she discovered she can write music and lyrics. Give her a song that needs lyrics and she can come up with it! Possibly because she has authored two novels which has led to a desire to write plays that need music. Rather than use the music of others she decided to compose her own. To date she has written, “The Tea Set” read by the students of East Texas Baptist University, of Marshall, TX.
Ewing-Keys not only is able to play the piano, write, mix and produce music she adds video to it. Ewing-Keys started out as a photographer 25+ years ago doing weddings and proms and now that skill has enabled her to film and edit videos for the music she produces.
Ewing-Keys is looking forward to collaborating with other producers and musicians to broaden her skills in all these areas and create great “sounds”.
One of her most recent works is, JUNE! Written for the celebration of Juneteenth. A song she looks forward to making an integral part of the National Holiday by performing it every year with a new remix and video look each time.
Ewing-Keys is the former student of Produce Like A Pro under the tutelage of Warren Huart and collaborates weekly with a team of other producers along with Huart to refine her skills. Ewing-Keys has a masters degree in Accounting and is a retired federal auditor.
